THE REIGN OF SUP (Single-Use Plastic)

It came as a revolution

we welcomed it with enthusiasm

waterproof, light and yet so strong 

could  be stored  for ever so long

It changed our outlook and lifestyle

'cause came with it, comfort and smiles 

be it party, travelling, office or school

it made our lives easy and cool!

It became a symbol of convenience  

and thrived on our negligence              

oh! how little were we all aware

of  the menace  it would  create 

The jaunty genie, our dear Plastic

in bags, bottles, plates, cups.. thin or thick

ruined the soil, water and air

our health, fauna, flora.. none did it spare

It is time for a new revolution

to cope with the landfills and pollution

let the reign of  SUP, see downfall

'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle', be motto of all

With habit change, we shall all gain

choked earth will then breathe once again

luxuriant soils and clear waters

no more deaths of innocent creatures.

प्रिय पाठकों , 

मेरी यह कविता आपको इस ब्लॉग के 'For a change'

page पर भी पढ़ने को भी मिलेगी। मैंने यह कविता जनवरी 

2019 में लिखी थी; पर  क्योकि यह अंग्रेज़ी  में थी इसलिए 

इसको  होम पेज पर न पोस्ट करके,अलग पेज पर पोस्ट 

किया था। इस माह भारत सरकार द्वारा सिंगल यूज़ प्लास्टिक 

पर लगाए  गए प्रतिबंध  के स्वागत हेतु  मैने इसे आज 

होम पेज पर भी पोस्ट किया है।आइए  हम सब मिलकर 

स्वच्छ,सुंदर पर्यावरण बनाने में अपना योगदान दें।
